1 million Note 2 devices sold in Korea

It seems that smartphones with big displays are getting more popular. As you might expect, Samsung as the founder of this market segment it absolutely dominating, Galaxy Note 2 sales are going very well, and customers are crazy about the device in Korea [They are also crazy about it in the US – Ed].

 

The Korean manufacturer, in fact, earlier announced that it has sold over five million copies of this smartphone with a diagonal of 5.5 inches. Of this number, every fifth device is sold on Samsung's home turf. These sales figures come three months after the(shipping) launch of the Galaxy Note 2. If this trend of growth in sales continues , Samsung could reach ten million Note 2 devices sold the in early 2013.

However, Samsung has growing competition in the phablets category. Apart from LG and HTC, which have presented their models, large smartphones have been announced by ZTE and Huawei. It looks like we will be getting quite a few new standards this year. How long will it take before everyone will have huge 5+“ devices with 1080p resolution?
