It looks like Acer plans to launch a new tablet. The unit price of this new tablet should not exceed $ 100, which will align the device with the cheapest Android tablets that are out on the market. However, a low price does not mean that the device itself will be bad; on the contrary it's a pretty decent bang for buck.

The device name will be the Iconia B1 and the specifications should be comparable to the Kindle Fire. It will have a screen with a diagonal of seven inches and a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels. It should have a dual-core processor with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz as well. Pictures of the device were first leaked to the Serbian forum Benchmark.rs. The device is apparently intended for sale in developing markets, and according to information from Benchmark.rs, sales should start in January.

The device will be equipped with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. In addition, Acer has plans to launch a cheap tablet with Windows 8 on Intel-based hardware. They should hit the market in the first quarter of next year. There is no information of if this device be available in the U.S.
