Supposedly the new console would use Android as an operating system, and allow streaming of media and running of video games. No additional information about Amazon's games console and accompanying games were disclosed.
For a long time rumors were going around that Amazon is developing its own gaming console based on Android, according to previously published information it will use processor designed for mobile devices and rely on the work of Amazon's cloud services. Hopefully it will not be a flop like OUYA was.

According to several sites (among which is VG247.com) that are dealing with the descriptions of games and all that has some connection with gaming, Amazon will this year issue their own gaming console which would cost in the US under $300.
