Apple fined in Taiwan

Reading time is around minutes.

Taiwan Trade Commission fined the company Apple with a fine in the amount of $667,000 because of their impact on the price of iPhone products and tariffs that go along with them in the Taiwanese telecommunications operators. Also, they noted that if this practice continues Apple will be punished with a much higher fine in the amount of $1,670,000.

Taiwanese authorities have revealed details of secret communications between Apple and the local operators, which happened in a way that operators send a message to Apple via e-mail with suggestions for future price tariffs that were not yet available to users that Apple was supposed to approve and that would be offered for sale only after Apple's approval.

Sentence imposed by the Commission relates solely to the iPhone mobile phones, not the line of Apple iPad.
