According to unofficial information, the upgrade tagged 1.5.0 should implement a web browser, email client and refreshed app store for buying books to the mentioned Nook readers. The possibility of surfing the Internet and viewing email significantly extends the functionality of Simple Touch Reader and it's obviously a continuation of a trend that Barnes&Noble has begun with recent addition of access to Google Play store apps for their Android tablets Nook HD and HD +.
The company extends the capabilities of their electronic book readers and tablets in order to be able to cope with the competition, especially with comparable devices from Amazon's camp.

Owners of Barnes&Noble e-books can soon expect a software upgrades that should significantly extends the functionality of the device. The upgrade will be available early next month, and they refer to readers Nook Simple Touch and Simple Touch with Glowlight.
