Canadian RIM has finally announced the official launch date of the new platform BlackBerry 10. The company's CEO, Thorsten Heins, in a press release announced that the official presentation of BlackBerry 10 will take place at an event scheduled for the 30th of January next year (2013).

He also said that “In building BlackBerry 10, we set out to create a truly unique mobile computing experience that constantly adapts to your needs. Our team has been working tirelessly to bring our customers innovative features combined with a best in class browser, a rich application ecosystem, and cutting-edge multimedia capabilities. All of this will be integrated into a user experience – the BlackBerry Flow – that is unlike any smartphone on the market today“

According to Heins, the announced event should take place simultaneously in several countries and more details on specific devices and the timing of their availability will be released then. Thorsten Heins praised BlackBerry 10's Internet browser, a good variety of applications, advanced multimedia features and modern user interface BlackBerry Flow.

“Thanks to our strong partnerships with global carriers and a growing ecosystem of developers, we believe our customers will have the best experience possible with BlackBerry 10. We are looking forward to getting BlackBerry 10 in the hands of our customers around the world.” he concluded, but how will they compete with the big guys. Blackberry was always a solution almost exclusively for business users, but with so many added functionalities to other smartphones it will be interesting to see if they can keep their users, or have they crossed over to other manufacturers.
