Brendan Eich becomes Mozilla's CEO

After almost a year Mozilla was managed by temporary CEO Jay Sullivan, the company finally decided to appoint a person which will be a permanent solution to the position of Chief Executive Officer. It is a developer and former director of Mozilla technology, 53 year old Brendan Eich.

 

In his first statement from the CEO position Eich thanked Sullivan for all the successes so far, and stressed that it was an honor and a challenge to run a company like Mozilla. Brandan Eich was born in 1961. in Pittsburgh (State of Pennsylvania). He began his career in 1995 at Netscape, where he was responsible for the development of the programming language JavaScript.

He is one of the founders of the Mozilla Foundation, a nonprofit organization formed within AOL, and within which Mozilla Corporation operates today whose director Eich just become. Since 2005. he worked as Chief Technology Officer. Current CEO Jay Sullivan will leave the company after a transition period.
