Demo version not a "must" anymore on Xbox Live

Reading time is around minutes.

Development teams who want their games to be included in the Xbox Live offer of Arcade games on Xbox 360 had to make sure to offer players a demo version so that everyone could try out a game before buying. Microsoft was the one that insisted on this practice but not so long after the release of Xbox One they confirmed that this practice will become a past tense.

"It is up to game developers to do demos for their own games. There will be more demos for Xbox One as the platform goes forward", said Microsoft's Larry Hryb refusing to reveal why MS decided to withdraw this important provision for the players.

With changes in the Xbox Live Marketplace for the Xbox One, changes in game categories also appeared, so now there is no demo game category, so the players seeking demo version of the game they want to play could have a hard time finding it, even if it exists.
