Destiny Alpha comes to Sony PlayStation on June 12th

Reading time is around minutes.

If you have never heard of the developer Bungie then you probably are not a Halo fan. Bungie is the company that was responsible for Halo 1-3. Now they are working on another project that is to be a little less exclusive, Destiny.  As Bungie is only known for their work on Halo the industry and consumers are sure to be keeping an eye on Destiny to see if Halo was a fluke or if Bungie can really write a game.

To help them in their efforts to build a game worth buying and playing Bungie has announced that they will be kicking off an Alpha program for the game on Playstation. The move to include Playsation users is interesting considering their relationship with Microsoft, but it is sure to help them bring in additional console gamers. The Alpha “first look” will go live for PS3 and PS4 owners on the 12th of June. A full Beta program will be launched in mid-July (the 17th) again only for PlayStation 3 and 4 owners.

For the Xbox gang, well you will get a chance to look at the game during a beta program just for the Xbox… sometime after the Sony guys get theirs. There is no word on which versions of the Xbox will be supported, but we are hoping that they extend the compatibility to both the Xbox One and 360. Microsoft has already said that Destiny will be among the first games to gain access to extra hardware resources (bringing the resolution up to 1080p@60fps), but it does not mean that Bungie will ignore the Xbox 360 users.

If they do include the Xbox 360 guys, well it will be another reason not to upgrade to the Xbox One right now.
