Hayden, who also appears to live in a fantasy land made the claim that the military network is the hardest target to hit in the US despite numerous breaches over the years including one that managed to get into the Pentagon. The fear mongering that followed was nothing short of delusional with the following comment:

“So if they can’t create great harm to dot-mil, who are they going after? Who for them are the World Trade Centers? The World Trade Centers, as they were for al-Qaida.”

Hayden seems to think that groups like Lulzsec, Anonymous, and others have the same mind set as the group that perpetrated one of the worst attacks on US soil.

His language does not stop there as he also claims:

 “nihilists, anarchists, activists, Lulzsec, Anonymous, twentysomethings who haven’t talked to the opposite sex in five or six years”

We are not sure if he is trying to provoke a response from Anonymous or something of that nature, but we can take a look at his comments and have come to a conclusion about his mentality. Michael Hayden is justifying his, and others actions against the US in the same manner that an abuser would. He see himself as being the only one that understands why he is doing this and how punching someone in the face is ok and in their best interest. Having listened to many criminals justify their actions while working as a correctional officer I can tell you his comments sound almost identical to theirs.

Hayden was the man in charge when then President George W Bush gave the ok for programs that allowed for wholesale collection of data from US citizens. He has his own reputation and future career to protect here and so has taken an aggressive stance to show us how his unethical and constitutionally illegal actions are ok and all for our best interest. I am sure this will make everyone sleep better at night knowing that the NSA is protecting us from “nihilists, anarchists, activists, Lulzsec, Anonymous, twentysomethings who haven’t talked to the opposite sex in five or six years” instead of concentrating on more pressing concerns like a bad economy and real terrorist seeking to cause death and destruction. Still it is all for our own good…
