Fingerprint identification on the smartphones

Alleged iPhone 5S and LG G2 reportedly will recognize what are supposed to be greasy fingerprints, which like it or not, we leave on smartphones every day. Engineers from many companies have been thinking for quite some time about the grease we leave in a form of fingerprints, and how can they make something useful for mobile devices  from it, and now apparently they all came up with a solution at the same time.

The company Pantech has launched the Vega LTE smartphone in Korea and the phone has a fingerprint scanner, which offers what LG has yet to present a day later. Besides finger scanner, Vega LTE-A contains Snapdragon 800 running at 2.3 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 13 megapixel camera at the rear and FullHD IPS screen.

Do not forget that the Motorola Atrix 2 had a fingerprint scanner in 2011 already, but the addition was subsequently removed. Of course this brings out a lot of questions, one of the most important ones is how will it affect users privacy. Is there a chance that this is just an additional way so the governments can spy on the end users or will it maybe help to identify the criminals remains to be seen.
