Earnings in the last quarter have increased by 7% compared to the previous quarter, and by 26% compared to the same period last year, and in the department cell phone business there was a 3% increase compared to the previous quarter. The highest growth was recorded in the department of semiconductors business and earnings from memory chips increased by 12%. Samsung's CEO recently for Korean newspaper said that in half a year they shipped 40 million copies of the Galaxy S 4, and the department of IT and smartphones generated largest profit for Samsung.
The biggest decline comparing to the quarter earlier, of 12%, was recorded in the department for the screens production, including those that are installed in TVs.
