Microsoft has received patent for the start screen

Two years ago at the time of the first public demonstration of Windows 8, Microsoft filed documentation for patenting appearance and functionality of the Start screen of the OS. The US Patent Office finally approved the request this week.

Name of the patent is Display Screen With Graphical User Interface, and describes the elements of Windows 8 as well as live tiles that display different information. As the author of the design Ethan Nelson Ray was signed who has since moved to Google where he is also working as a designer of user interface.

According to latest information, Microsoft will try with the new Microsoft Windows 8.1 upgrade to meet the demands of users of computers with a keyboard and mouse through better integration of the desktop and the new "Metro" interface.
