The next version of Google's operating system Android 4.4 will be called KitKat. Senior Vice President of Google Sundar Pichai confirmed this information on his Google+ and Twitter profiles, with the addition of the image of android robot looking like a KitKat chocolate bar. Beside this, the company on the web site for Android developers put the list of all previous versions of Android.

They were the following versions: Cupcake (1.5), Donut (1.6), Eclair (2.0), Froyo (2.2), Gingerbread (2.3), Honeycomb (3.0) Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0), and Jelly Bean (4.1 to 4.3). Each version is named after sweets and we already known that the name of the next version will be a dessert that starts with the letter K. The rumors were saying that the new version will be named by a fruit pie made of lime or Key Lime Pie. But partnership that Google made in November last year with Nestle, the world's largest nutrition company and owner of the brand KitKat, was not taken into account.

According to the BBC, over 50 million KitKat chocolate bars will be used to promote the Android mascot in 19 markets worldwide, including large markets of Brazil, Russia, India and Japan. Can you guess what will be the name of the Android OS that will come after the KitKat Version, we only know that it will start with L, maybe Lion (another chocolate from Nestle)?
