Reading time is around minutes.

Sources close to the people who are engaged in the search for new executive director of Microsoft confirmed to Bloomberg that a new candidate has appeared. In fact, after 5 months of searching for a new boss, the team responsible for recruitment considers Hans Vestberg, the current chief executive of Ericsson.

Although the deadline that they have is set for the summer of 2014, the leader of the team, John Thompson, wants to find a new Microsoft boss already at the start of this year. 48 year old Hans Vestberg has led Ericsson since January 2010, and on that place he came from the position of Chief Financial Officer of the same company, replacing Carl-Henric Svanberg.

Vestberg is reportedly one of as many as 20 potential candidates under consideration to succeed Steve Ballmer.
