Strauss Zelnick says that Grand Theft Auto is actually a true cultural phenomenon, and that Rockstar once again redefined what is possible to achieve in the world of interactive entertainment. It is worth noticing that GTA 5 on the first day of sales earned around $800 million.

By comparison, the previous record holder Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 achieved the figure of a billion dollars earnings after 15 days of sales, which was two days less the previous record set by the Call of Duty: Modern Warfarea 3.

As you already know, the Grand Theft Auto 5 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 came out on 17th September, and on Metacritic currently carries almost unbelievable average rating of slightly less than 98% for the Xbox 360, or 97% for the PlayStation 3 edition of the game.
