Angry Birds coming to Wii U

ab

Despite the fairly high price of around 40 dollars, Angry Birds on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS has sold more than a million copies, giving Rovio reason to be optimistic about the upcoming Wii and Wii U versions. Obviously Angry Birds madness is nowhere near ending, and there is certainly no reason for it to. Angry Birds has even extended into the streaming media player market where we have found it pre-installed on some devices like the Roku.

Rovio's vice president Petri Järvilehto said that “It was certainly satisfying to see Angry Birds gameplay adapt so well to other platforms in 2012. The features specific to the Wii U are very intriguing to us, so we're excited to release this version to fans.”

We do expect to see this limit hit fairly soon as the market gets flooded with different versions of the game. Rovio does have one very solid thing going for them though. On the mobile platform you can still grab a very functional free version of the game. If this ever goes away or becomes a one level demo I think that Rovio’s favorite title will not stick around very long after that…]
