The current generation of Macs supports 802.11 n specification and speeds of up to 450 Mbps (iMac and MacBook Pro), or up to 270 Mbps for devices with two antennas like the MacBook Air. Gigabit Wi-Fi equipment that supports this specification are all accessible - many chip makers like Broadcomm presented at CES more than a few 802.11 ac solutions, and since the last year there are some network routers that support the specification.

This year, the availability of 802.11 ac network equipment should be more generous, and the same applies to the devices from computers to tablets and smartphones like HTC One, which also supports the 802.11 Wi-Fi ac. This could soon be the case for the Apple devices, at least as far as computers are concerned.
