Cheaper older generation Athlons coming from AMD

AMD logo

AMD has lowered the prices for a total of eighteen processors from older generations, mainly for FM1 and AM3 sockets. Within the A Series APU chips for FM1 socket prices were changed for six processors, ranging from a minimum of 3.7% for A6-3670K (from $80 to $77) to 21.7% ($46 to $36) for A4-3300.

A large numbers of users who want to upgrade older computers could find the price declines very attractive since a total of twelve lines of chips from the Athlon II X2, X3 and X4 now come with a new price and in some cases significantly lower than the previous one. The latter is expected to be given to older processors for the AM3 platform, especially considering that the production will soon cease.

The biggest difference in price now has a 4-core Athlon II X4 640, which is cheaper by 31.6% (from 98 to 67 dollars), followed by the Athlon II X2 265 which cost from $69 down to $48 (the difference between 30,4%). All chips from the Athlon II family are cheaper at least 14 percent and if you are interested in the whole list check the table below.
