After this announcement Twitter stocks sank by around 18%, and the financial results are not the only thing that worries investors. In fact, another reason of concern for the future of the social network is slower growth in the number of users. In 2013, the number of new users per quarters rose by 10%, 7%, 6%, and only 3.8% respectively.
This growth was the lowest recorded since the founding of Twitter. The year concluded with 241 million active users and 7% decline of the number of hits on the home page. Analysts agree that the next year most important thing will be the policy of attracting new users and its commercial success.
