Apparently the concern was that the lack of worker education on how to meet the latest high standards was the reason for it. Beside that there was a week-long national holiday, but workers had to come to their job nevertheless and nobody loves that. However Foxconn Technology Group stated that there were no bigger escalations beside a few minor disputes that took place at the plant, but these were immediately solved. Also the additional staff was brought in to make sure production meets high standards.
The company stated “Any reports that there has been an employee strike are inaccurate. There has been no workplace stoppage in that facility or any other Foxconn facility and production has continued on schedule”. They also said that the workers who were there during the holiday worked voluntarily. It all sounds very shady, and like they don’t want to admit that something bigger really happened. It would not be the first case of dissatisfied workers that work for the big companies. Foxconn also said that they received instructions to strengthen quality inspection as they received several complains on aesthetic flaws from their customers.
