Although this period is behind us, Japanese phone manufacturer Willcom has decided to revive the concept of a small cell phone and produce the smallest and lightest phone in the world. The phone is called the Phone Strap 2 and weighs only 32 grams (4 times less than the iPhone 5), and comes in dimensions of 32x70x10.7 mm.
Though his 1-inch screen looks ridiculously small compared to today's smartphones, it is possible to receive a text email. The phone has a removable antenna, a miniature battery that can withstand two hours of talk and remain idle for 300 hours, beside all that you get the already forgotten strap that prevents the device from falling to the floor.
As far as support for peripherals, there is a microUSB connector for charging which also serves to connect a set of headphones. The Phone Strap 2 can store up to 1000 contacts, and comes in three colors - pink, black and white. Willcom will produce just 12,000 pieces, while the price and launch date are still unknown.
