The first Windows Phone 8 device from the Chinese manufacturer is labeled the Ascend W1. The device is intended for the middle segment and is based on a 4 inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 480x800 pixels. It has a built-in dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz and Adreno 305 graphics. It comes with a five megapixel camera that can record video in 720p resolution. The thickness of the unit housing slightly exceeds one centimeter and it has a built in battery of 1950 mAh.
Sales of this mobile device will start in China and Russia by the end of the month. European and U.S. markets are next in line, but the exact time of the start of sales is not published, nor price.
