Samsung has introduced an addition called Smart Evolution Kit that will give certain TV models from 2012 series more powerful processors and new opportunities for this year's models.

Buyers of LCD TVs bearing marks UN75ES9000, UNES8000 and UNES7500, and models based on plasma screens, PNE8000 and PNE7000, will be able to purchase hardware accessories that will be in sold in the U.S. for 200 to 300 dollars. This device should be simply inserted into the appropriate slot on the back of the TV, and will bring a new quad-core A15 processor with a clock speed 1.35 GHz. It should provide up to 3.6 times better performance compared to last year's dual-core model. There is a performance improvement of the graphical subsystem and additional memory, which should ensure a better experience when browsing the Internet, as well as application performance.

Once this additional device is installed, it will replace the user interface that came with 2012 models with a redesigned version that comes in this year's models. It will also include improvements regarding voice and motion recognition and connectivity. Samsung announced they will continue with similar upgrades in the coming years so that owners of their TVs can continue having new and improved capabilities without having to buy a new TV.
