The AMD R9 290X has arrived

AMD has finally officially unveiled their latest flagship graphics card R9 290X. Thanks to the official presentation of R9 290X all previously unknown features are finally revealed. AMD's graphics card will have 2816 stream processors, 512 bit memory bus and 4GB of GDDR5 memory.

New card according to single-precision calculation obtains the power of 5.6 Tflop/s. The AMD points out that the new card is made with the intention of full support for Ultra HD (4K) resolution, and AMD's Eyefinity Technology 4 intended for multiscreens content.

Within the API they built-in support for DirectX 11.2, OpenGL 4.3 and technology Mantle for full exploitation of the potential GCN (Graphics Core Next) architecture. AMD R9 290X will be available for sale on October 24th for a suggested price of $549 or €399 in Europe.
