The results were the worst in the US retail chain Best Buy, where this number is moving towards 33%. Samsung has already responded and enlisted their employees within the retail chain, normally assigned to help with purchase, to try to determine the reasons for such high rates of returns by customers.
Maybe improvements to these poor results will arrive with announced expansion of support for Galaxy Gear. During November, Note 2, Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 Active will be updated to Android 4.3 (for now there is no specified dates for the US), which will include support for Samsung's smart watch. Apple fans, rejoice.
[Ed – One of the biggest issues with this was a lack of support for the Galaxy Gear across all platforms. This was a mistake on the part of Samsung who seemed to think it would help improve sales of the Note 3. In our conversations most people that bought the Gear liked the device, but could not see keeping it if their phone did not support it.]
