At PAX fair confirmation came from Sony that the drives built into the PlayStation 4 will be possible to change and that the console will support the use of external drives from day one. Unfortunately, Sony has decided to disable installation of games on external drives, and this decision without detailed explanation was very briefly announced on Twitter.

Microsoft has confirmed that the upcoming Xbox One, which will appear on the market later this year, will not support the use of external drives initially, although this option is announced during the presentation of the console.
