Nokia dominates Windows Phone 8 market

According to data collected by the seller company Adduplex, Nokia has huge 85.4% of the market of devices based on Windows Phone. In Adduplex also point out that Nokia has in the previous month increased its dominance in this market, and increase the share by one percentage point.

The most popular device based on Windows Phone according to applications that use AdDuplex SDK v.2 is Nokia Lumia 520, which is holding 13.3% of the global market. Previous month the device was only the fifth most popular, but thanks to a very good price it quickly climbed to the top position. In second place comes the Lumia 920, with a share of 11.8%, followed by the Lumia 620 and 710, which hold 9.6% stake. Lumia 800 comes after them, which is still holding up well, with a share of 8.4% of the total market, although it is based on WP 7.5, and can not be upgraded to Windows Phone 8.

Among the devices that do not come from Nokia, best placed was HTC's Windows Phone 8X, which holds 3.7% of the market.

[Ed - Being the leader in the smallest segment of the mobile market is not exactly what a company wants to be known for. Right now the Windows Phone market share is still in single digits (between 4 and 6% depending on what report you read) and is a fraction of what Apple and Google hold, Nokia might be doing amazing compared to other Window Phone makers, but they are failing in the larger game. ]
