Nokia takes over Nokia Siemens Networks

Nokia has officially announced its decision to take over Siemens stake in the joint company Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN). This business move has already been approved by the boards of both companies, but for the realization of the transaction will be required the approval of various regulatory authorities for market surveillance.

According to the announcement, Nokia will take over 50 percent of all Siemens' stake in NSN for 1.7 billion euros, and the transaction should be finalized by the end of the third quarter of this (calendar) year. Subsequently, Nokia Siemens Networks will be a wholly owned Nokia's, and eventually will lose part of the name that says Siemens.

Nokia will then complete takeover NSN and retain existing management of these centers in Finland and Germany and will continue to invest in the development of telecommunications infrastructure for mobile networks of fourth generation (LTE). Siemens after the sale of their part of the company plans to focus on the energy, industrial and infrastructure systems and solutions for healthcare institutions.
