Reading time is around minutes.

radeon7950Sapphire has introduced a special edition of the Radeon HD 7950 for owners of Mac Pros. The card is currently the most powerful existing  graphics solution for Mac Pro, and support should be valid also for the future generation that will be available from later this year.

Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Mac Edition specifications match the version for PCs - a GPU clock speed of 800 MHz and 1792 stream processors, and there is a 3 GB GDDR5 of effective 5 GHz clock speed. As you can see on picture, it comes with a white chamber type cooling system which is not always the best solution.

Apple is the last developer preview release of Mac OS X 10.8.3 added support for Radeon with GCN architecture (7970, 7950, 7870, 7770 and 7750), so that the graphic system upgrade on Mac Pro with this solution should pass without any problems . The card will go on sale this spring with a price of $450, and since it's the Mac version the price is not much at all.
