Fortune has released their new list of the top 500 global companies ordered by revenue and among the technology companies best position were occupied by Samsung and Apple, not much of a suprise.

Samsung from the 20th place last year with an income of 149 billion dollars, came at the 14th position after their revenue rose from the last year to 178.6 billion dollars. Apple last year finished on a somewhat dissapointing 55th place with revenues of 108 billion dollars during the 2011, but this year has jumped to 19th place after last year revenue rose to 156.6 billion dollars.

But both companies are far behind the leader Royal Dutch Shell, which last year generated revenues of 481.7 billion dollars. Among technology companies, Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn) took 30th place, Hewlett Packard is 43rd, Hitachi placed 54 and IBM made it to the 62nd place.
