Samsung likes Green

According to information coming from Samsung, new Green DDR4 memory should be available by August next year. Compared to the existing DDR3 memory operating at speeds of 1866 MHz, the new DDR4 memory will maintain a speed of 2133 MHz. With the increased speed some of the main advantages of Samsung's Green DDR4 modules will include increased reliability and lower energy requirements.

Samsung has announced a new Green PCI Express solid state discs which should have six times better performance than the current SATA SSDs with lower energy requirements. For the upcoming year, Samsung is also preparing a special combination of Green and Green DDR4 PC-Express SSD, which is intended for servers. According to Samsung servers which will use their combined solution will be 1.6 times more efficient than the currently existing.

As these are first announcements on this subject, there is still a possibility for further improvement of these figures by the next year.
