Although Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 has just hit the market the device has already been rooted by the team at RootGalaxynote.com. This actually should come as no surprise when you consider that the Note 10.1 is probably very similar internally to the original note and other Samsung products currently on the market (and also the fact that it comes with Ice Cream Sandwich). As of right now the root only works for the European and Saudi Arabia/UAE versions and we have no word on when the US or other Firmware versions will be rooted, but we except it to happen very soon.

RootGalaxyNote.com has a very nice tutorial on how to get this accomplished (if you are in the right region) on their site and it is shown off by ZEDOMAX who, as you can see in the picture below, is very excited about the new root. ZEDOMAX also notes that he has not finalized any other firmware yet, but that if you really want you can flash your device with one of the firmware versions that he has rooted and you will be all set (as long as you do not mind the region changes).

What makes the news of the root so interesting is that availability of the new device is exceptionally limited, even larger sites like Engadget and Cnet do not have them yet to it is unlikely that many consumers will have the product in hand either. Still as with the Jailbreaking craze that surrounded the iPhone the fun around rooting Android is there which drives the community. There is also the fact that you are not likely to get sued for rooting an Android product like you could when tinkering with iOS.

You can check out the tutorial while you wait on your Galaxy Note 10.1 to arrive from the shops at RootGalaxyNote.com
