Model DEV-50V is Sony's second-generation digital binoculars with recording capability and built-in GPS receiver for geo tagging of captured images and movies. This is not even remotely new kind of devices, but Sony's latest piece is a impressive demonstrator how this segment of devices advanced.

DEV-50V can record full HD AVCHD 2.0 movies with stereo sound and capture 20.4 megapixel photos, with up to 12x optical and 25x digital zoom and optical stabilization and the ability to record 3D images. Clearly, geo tagging of images and movies with GPS coordinates is performed automatically. Also, this binoculars amplifies the available light for shooting in low light.

It is put together in the waterproof and dust resistant case. These bincoulars are expected to be available  in June for $2,000, impressive price for impressive gadget. You can watch how it performs in the video below
