Microsoft will soon expand the global availability of their Surface RT and Surface Pro tablets. The company announced on their official blog the launch of Surface RT tablets in several new markets in late March, and better availability of Surface Pro devices in the coming months.

At the end of this month the Surface RT will go on sale in Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan. Prices have not been announced, but it will probably be a similar to what they are in the current markets - RT surface basic version with 32 GB of flash memory goes for $499 in the U.S. market.

In the coming months (an exact time frame was not specified) Microsoft will expand the availability of the Surface Pro model with Windows 8 too, which is currently on sale only in the U.S. and Canada. The Surface Pro will go on sale in Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, New Zealand and the UK, and other details, like the exact date of availability and price, Microsoft will be published later.

[Ed – Although Microsoft is announcing better availability around the world there are still troubling accounts of production issues. These are mostly to do with the outer shell of the product. We are hearing that this magnesium alloy shell is not that easy to make and is accounting for most of the delays as well as the stocking problems that companies are having. However, Microsoft’s loss has been other companies gain as they have been able to maintain better stock and therefore better sales (or at least more consistent)]
