iPhone 5C below expectations
Recently launched iPhone 5C is reportedly not selling well enough, at least in Apple's criteria. According to latest information provided by the Wall Street Journal, they reduced the production of smartphones shortly after the release.
Concrete iPhone
Ever since Apple released its first iPhone, the market for various supplements for the same is increasing. And within those accessories you will always find a fast selection of screen and damage protectors.
Siri in Chevrolet cars… well sort of
At the auto show which is being held in Los Angeles, General Motors announced that Siri, Apple's voice assistant that is available to users of the iPhone 4S and 5, iPad Mini with Retina and the fifth-generation iPod Touch, will be integrated into models of Chevrolet Spark and Sonic at the begining of next year (2013).
Foxconn denies strike at iPhone 5 factory
There have been some rumors going around that workers at Foxconn's factory, which assembles Apple's latest iPhone, have gone on strike making the production process completely paralyzed. However, Foxconn has denied all of that and stated that production is going as scheduled. Reports were saying that there are 3,000 to 4,000 workers on a strike at Foxconn's Zhengzhou complex last Friday that was triggered by over exaggerating quality controls on the iPhone production.
Apple claims 2 million iPhone 5 preorders in the first 24h
Today Apple announced that they have received over 2 million preorders for the iPhone 5 in just 24 hours. This is twice as many as for the iPhone 4S. Apple's expectations were not so big so the preorders exceeded the initial supply. The first batch of devices will be delivered on September 21, while rest will be shipped in October. It looks like their promotions are giving fruit as this is a new preorder record for Apple. Since the first iPhone hit the market, their preorder were constantly increasing with every new model.
Apple Is "Blown Away" By iPhone 5 Sales... Uses The Same Wording As Last Year To Tell Us About It
Apple is claiming that the new iPhone is sold out stating that preorders were “incredible”. The event happened an hour after preorders started which would seem to be a rather big deal for the new phone… well except for that nagging little fact that before the launch Sharp had already stated that they were not going to be able to meet production numbers of screens for Apple’s new phone. This problem was talked about all over the internet as having the potential to hurt Apple after the launch. We took a slightly different track and felt that Apple would spin the incident at launch which is what they have done.
Unlocked iPhone 5 prices available
So if you are still nervous about the new iPhone, and want to buy it ASAP here are the official prices of unlocked models. 16GB version will go for $649, 32GB one for $749 and last one 64GB for $849. All of the devices are unlocked so you won’t have to sign a 1 or 2 year contract with any carriers. This is desirable if you want to swap to another network in case they just popped up a new super attractive offering. Also this means that you will be able to use iPhone on the T-mobile network who is working on deploying the 1900 MHz spectrum which should help iPhone achieve some of the fastest mobile broadband speeds.
Apple's New iPhone Will Do Well, But It Is Not The Exicting Product They Needed
Today was supposed to be Apple’s big day in the sun yet from most of the coverage on the internet there is very little truly new in the iPhone 5. Even Apple’s stock did not move much after the new phone was announced this was something that many analysts predicted might happen if the new iPhone did not have compelling features. Right now taking a look at Apple’s iPhone 5 all you are getting is a new OS (iOS 6) and a new connector that is actually pretty cool. However outside of that you are not getting much to be happy about we have already covered the specifications on the new iPhone, but now let’s see what these new specifications mean in the real world and to the consumer.
The iPhone 5 is leading the Apple herd
Today Apple had their big press conference and it was really big. They announced almost all they could, we will get a new iPhone, new iPod Touch, new iPod nano, new connector and new earphones. In this article we will focus on the main star, the iPhone 5. Even though there were many rumors that Samsung will sue them over LTE patents they have released it with LTE support and also a new A6 chipset, previous iPhone used the A5. The back panel is replaced with sheet of anodized aluminum, and the whole device is the slimmest so far, the width stayed the same but it did gain some length.
Is this the new iPhone connector?
Yesterday, pictures of what is apparently the new iPhone connector leaked to the internet. The new connector looks very similar to micro USB, especially in size. Pictures were leaked on French tech blog site NowhereElse.fr. While the old connector had 30 pins it was rumored that the new one will have just 19, but from the pictures we can see that it is only 8 or 9 pins if we consider the shell as one. Tomorrow it is expected that Apple will release new iPhone, but also several new iPods all are expected to feature a new dock connector.
