In the shadow of the presentation of the new Nokia's smartphone Lumia 1020 with 41 MP camera, presentation of several applications made specifically for the device, as well as Windows Phone 8 system also happened.

Believe it or not, thanks to Windows 8, PC sales have just gone through the biggest decline in the past 20 years. These sales, combined with the increasing popularity of tablets, beg the question:  is Windows 8 going to destroy the PC Market?
I own a PC that came with Windows 8, and I can tell you, I wasn't pleasantly surprised when I began to use the operating system. Lets take a look at why or why not PCs might be on their way out.

Google has officially unveiled the new Google Maps for devices with the Android operating system. The user interface has undergone a complete redesign and now looks a lot cleare. They also removed well known sidebar, which allows you to view map over the full screen. New version of the application has improved navigation and like Waze points to incidents in traffic, and will also inform you if a better route to the destination becomes available.

Google's latest operating system for mobile devices, Android Jelly Bean, has finally surpassed Gingerbread and has become the most common version of Android. According to data published by Google, Jelly Bean now holds approximately 37.9% of the share among all Android versions, while the share of Gingerbread is 34.1%.

Fortune has released their new list of the top 500 global companies ordered by revenue and among the technology companies best position were occupied by Samsung and Apple, not much of a suprise.

So far we've heard some rumors that the Samsung should issue in the near future a new Windows Phone 8 smartphone that carries the code name Cronus, but the South Korean company has so far declined to comment on this matter.

Samsung has delivered over 20 million units of their most advanced smartphone, Galaxy S4, the company confirmed for the Korean newspapers. The result is better than S3 managed to achieve, but the official confirmation of the information is still awaited.

In the ad which will appear in the New York Times, USA Today, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal, Motorola will announce their upcoming smartphone Moto X. It is an Android device that will need to show why Google two years ago landed $12.5 billion to become the owner of Motorola's mobile division (except for patents).

Nokia has officially announced its decision to take over Siemens stake in the joint company Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN). This business move has already been approved by the boards of both companies, but for the realization of the transaction will be required the approval of various regulatory authorities for market surveillance.

Apple and Samsung continue to dominate the market of "smart" mobile phones in the U.S., while Android and iOS continue to be the convincingly leading platform.
