Motorola Files New Complaint Against Apple With The ITC, Asks For Import Ban On Apple Products

Apple is facing a new legal threat and they have not even gotten out of the one they are in with rival Samsung. The new suit, which has been filed by Google-owned Motorola Mobility, will sound very familiar. Moto claims that Apple has been using their patented technology in the iPhone, iPad and other product without paying for it. Just as with Samsung, Moto claims that they approached Apple about these but Apple rejected the terms and has gone on using the patents in their products since.
Judge Allowing Steve Jobs' "Thermonuclear" Comment in Apple Vs Google Court Battle
Sometimes things just do not go your way. Apple has been seeing that recently under the guidance of new CEO Tim Cook. We are not going to get into the debate about whether Tim Cook is a better or worse CEO as that is comparing Apples to Oranges. Tim Cook is a different type of CEO; he is a businessman first and foremost. It was one of the reasons that Steve Jobs wanted him in the position he was in. The company needed someone to “mind the back account” more than almost anything else.
Google Finishes the Buyout Of Motorola; What You Should and Should Not Worry About
In other Google news, the advertising giant is now the proud owner of a maker of smart (and dumb) phones. The buyout of Motorola Mobility finished today with the replacement of the former CEO with Google Americas President Dennis Woodside (Dennis there’s some lovely filth over here). The former Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha is stepping down and will leave the company after a short transition period. This is not an unusual situation and it is very common for the purchasing company to replace the top person at the very least.
Apple Denied Access to Google Development Documents, For Now
Although this is not “News” any longer we thought that we would touch on something that has been happening in the Apple/Motorola Mobility/Google legal war. As we mentioned a while ago Apple had demanded that Google (the soon to be owner of Motorola Mobility) had over all documentation on Android Development as part of the patent lawsuit that they have with Motorola Mobility. The law suit pre-dates Google’s bid for the company and seemed out of place with the current fight.
