This should not come as a big surprise to anyone that has been keeping up with events at the Redmond based Windows shop. Over the last few years Microsoft has tried to transform themselves from a software giant that owns a successful gaming console department to a devices and services company that looks a lot like Apple.

Nokia to invest in the automotive industry

After the sale of cell phone department to Microsoft, Nokia intends to invest in other technologies. Investment fund Nokia Growth Partners announced at a conference of the Global Mobile Internet Conference that they plan to invest $100 million in the automotive industry.

Rajeev Suri to take Elop's place

After last week merging of Nokia Devices and Services department to Microsoft was finished, and former CEO Stephen Elop departure from company, Chief Executive Officer place remained vacant. Now the Finnish company announced that they have appointed the current Executive Director of division for Solutions and Nokia Networks, a 46 -year-old Rajeev Suri as their new CEO.

Microsoft has officially taken over Nokia

As it was announced a few months ago, Nokia's takeover deal of Devices and Services department by Microsoft has officially ended. According to the original agreement all the paperwork was to be completed during the first quarter, but regulators in individual countries with their subsequent decisions pushed the completion of this work to April.
