In the wake of the Nokia purchase Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is taking a hard look at the way Microsoft is organized and will be making some rather drastic cuts in staff. This should not come as a big surprise to anyone that has been keeping up with events at the Redmond based Windows shop. Over the last few years Microsoft has tried to transform themselves from a software giant that owns a successful gaming console department to a devices and services company that looks a lot like Apple.

New photos of the upcoming Microsoft Windows Phone device have leaked. This time the represent the new cheapest device on this mobile platform, Luma 530 which will be the successor of the famous model 520 which is currently the best selling Windows Phone device.

Publicly unknown engineer Ari Partinen recently moved from the Microsoft company Nokia to one of their biggest rivals Apple.

After the sale of cell phone department to Microsoft, Nokia intends to invest in other technologies. Investment fund Nokia Growth Partners announced at a conference of the Global Mobile Internet Conference that they plan to invest $100 million in the automotive industry.

After last week merging of Nokia Devices and Services department to Microsoft was finished, and former CEO Stephen Elop departure from company, Chief Executive Officer place remained vacant. As it was announced a few months ago, Nokia's takeover deal of Devices and Services department by Microsoft has officially ended. According to the original agreement all the paperwork was to be completed during the first quarter, but regulators in individual countries with their subsequent decisions pushed the completion of this work to April.

Nokia has officially presented their successor to quite popular Lumia 920 and 925, and it comes with simple name Lumia 930. This is an international edition of Lumia Icon model available in the U.S. market.

Last month Microsoft has announced that they will drastically slash the price of licenses for Windows Phone operating system to manufacturers of mobile devices. But now it appears that some of the bolder speculations how some companies will not have to pay any fee to Microsoft to use the WP platform were true.

Nokia at the global level received a patent for his invention described as a flexible batteries. According to the description, mentioned batteries should be able to wrap around one axis, and will be manufactured for installation in a “multifunctional portable electronic devices.”

Nokia finally officially unveiled its smartphone with Android OS at the MWC. However, this is not what Android fans had hoped for, and it turned out that the device will serve the spread of the company's services to attract users to the Lumia devices.
