Faster DRAM for smartphones from Samsung

Samsung is starting a mass production of new 20-nanometer LPDDR3 memory chips in 4 GB capacity. According to the manufacturer, it is the first memory chips for mobile phones that will be a performance comparable with the memory modules used in personal computers.

Back when Apple first started their legal campaign against Samsung they (Apple) were also beginning to break away from Samsung. This was understandable as there were and still are rumors (unconfirmed) that the whole legal argument started over the pricing of parts. The rumors claimed that Apple approached Samsung looking for preferential pricing and threatened to seek legal remedies if Samsung did not go along. Now we know that at least part of this it true. Apple did go to Samsung about pricing and also brought up their concerns about Samsung’s push into the smartphone market. If the rest is true no one but Apple and Samsung know for certain, but Apple did file a big suit against Samsung and have also been gradually pulling away from their Samsung as a primary supply partner ever since.

New Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), has a 7 inch touchscreen display in WSVGA resolution (1024  600 pixels, 169 PPI), and contains a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM.

The Taiwanese Fair Trade Commission has launched an investigation last week against Samsung in order to determine whether the Korean giant in collaboration with their local marketing agency paid the students to post comments on the Internet harmful for the HTC.

Samsung today officially unveiled two new mobile phones in the category of so called "phablets". So it is neither phone nor tablet - or - if you prefer - both phone and tablet. It is, in fact, the devices with screen diagonal of big 6.3 or 5.8 inches, which is called Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8. Not to mix them with a series of notes, as they do not come with the S Pen stylus.

According to Joosang Eun, senior vice president of sales and marketing departments of Printing Solutions Business of Samsung Electronics, the company in 2010 the year began with the simplification of mobile printing with the Galaxy tabs. Since then number of solutions were developed that enable Samsung customers to connect wirelessly their mobile devices and tablets to printers.

Samsung achiveing great numbers

We all knew that Samsung is doing great, but without some official financial information to back this up it's hard to tell exactly how great. According to the recently published estimates of performance in the first quarter of this year, Samsung has produced about 7.75 billion operating profit which is huge 45% more than in the same quarter last year.

Lately the news has been buzzing with the possibility of a new battle ground for Samsung and Apple. This is the Smart Watch arena and both companies appear to be preparing to fight it out here. Already Samsung has made their offering public well ahead of anything that we have heard from Apple… at least officially. On the rumor front we have heard that Apple might have a smart watch ready for their next release cycle. However, as the title suggests, both of these companies are very late to the party as the concept of the smart watch is not new.

Steve Kondik, creator of the CyanogenMod ROM for Android devices, 19 months ago was taken away by Samsung to boost software on Android devices with his expertise. However, it seems that this enthusiast was not pleased with the atmosphere at Samsung as he today on Google + revealed that he leaves the company.

Samsung could sell their company Liquavista, specialized in the development of e-ink color screen. Samsung acquired the company back in January 2011, and the same company develops special technology for color screen (electrowetting) intended primarily for e-book readers.
