Samsung’s Wallet

Samsung's Wallet application was launched on Tuesday at the MWC show in Barcelona and joins Apple and Google in the market of electronic archiving and scanning tickets, membership cards and discount coupon from a smart phone. This presentation comes just two days after Samsung announced that it has entered into a global agreement with Visa which will integrate the Visa payWave application on their mobile devices that support NFC technology.

FixYa says the iPhone is the most reliable

Although every smartphone has some drawbacks, according to test results made by FixYa; Apple's smartphone has the least of them. Apple's device therefore beat Samsung, Nokia and Motorola on FixYa reliability test based on the 7225 trouble tickets received from users and information company StatCounter's market share.

Is This the First look at the iPhone 5S

The web portal Gizchina have released a few interesting pictures that are supposed to be from a Foxconn factory (probably in China). These photos allegedly show some mobile devices that could possibly be an iPhone 5S. It looks pretty much the same as the iPhone 5 which is expected and furthers the rumors that it will be just a slight improvement regarding hardware specs.

Slide to unlock is not Apple's patent

According to the latest decision, the patent belongs to Micron and it is described as a “system and method for managing and accessing electronic device.”

ZTE brings V81, an 8 inch tablet

ZTE has unveiled a tablet bearing the mark V81. It is a device based on Android with an eight inch diagonal screen and a 4:3 aspect ratio. It looks like they won’t let Samsung be the only major company with an 8 inch tablet on the market.

If you never thought that Copyright was out of hand then you might be interested to know that Copyright laws are being use to stomp on your right as a consumer to choose the mobile carrier you want and take any devices that you might own with you. The mobile phone industry (hand in hand with the carriers) is trying to put the baseband locks on a phone into the realm of copyrighted material. The way they are doing this is by claiming that the locks protecting the baseband are the same as those found on a DVD or Blu-ray disk. Since they have convinced the US lawmakers that this is so we now find that unlocking your phone (any phone) is illegal and punishable by a minimum of $2,500.
