Even though the international (Austria, Spain, France and Romania) Galaxy S3 owners already have gotten the update for their device to latest Android software, US owners will have to wait a bit more. According to Samsung, the update will be rolled out in the coming months, but they didnt want to give specific dates. For more information customers will have to wait for the announcements from their carriers. The main problem with new Android versions is that companies like Samsung prefer to add something unique like their TouchWiz, so it takes longer to get the latest updates for this custom operating systems.

iPad Mini and 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro delayed

News 3d Apple Logo 102

It looks like there was more going on at the Foxconn manufacturing company in the last few days than was previously stated. Even though Foxconn stated that “There has been no workplace stoppage in that facility or any other Foxconn facility and production has continued on schedule”, things are starting to pile up rather quickly. As Apple continues to bring more and more new products, it looks like some of them will have to wait a bit due to slow production process. Just as they conquered the Android world, or maybe even the whole smartphone market with their Galaxy S3, Samsung wants to do the same with Windows 8. On their invite with the “Framing The Future” catchphrase we can see two notebooks, and from the first look they will definitely try to make a good first impression with its thickness and neat design. The event will take place at the Museum and maybe that's just a hint from Samsung that they intend to do (or bring) something revolutionary.

T-Mobile announced that Samsung Galaxy S3 is their best-selling mobile device of all time. This is another confirmation of its true quality and desirability by consumers. Of course this doesn’t mean much to T-Mobile, but it certainly does to Samsung in their race with other smartphones, mainly the iPhone. No official number of devices sold has been announced yet, but considering that T-Mobile is not as big as other carriers it's sure that they are not the leading seller.

Samsung announced record profits

As expected, Samsung did excellent in the last quarter. They marked record profits of $7.3 billion, and even though there were many speculations that the iPhone 5 launch would ruin their success; obviously that's not what happened. These results are almost as twice as good they were the year before. It looks like the Galaxy S III and other high end Android devices were appreciated by the customers. They didn’t want to say much more on their profits as they will wait until October 26 for full-quarter results.

samsung-logo

It looks like there is a simple hack, containing of only one line of code that can start an unstoppable factory reset on the Samsung Galaxy S3. According to security researchers there is a simple USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) code that can do some serious harm to S3 owners. USSD is a session based GSM protocol unlike SMS and MMS, and it is used to send messages between a mobile phone and an application server. With the advancements in technology there are more than few services based on USSD, some of them are social networking apps, mobile banking, prepaid recharge/account balance, even the NFC technology and QR codes.

judges-bench

We called this one in the early stages of the trial as Samsung’s legal team began laying the ground for a rolling ambush on Judge Lucy Koh and her favoritism of Apple. Now Samsung has filed a Motion for Judgment as a Matter of Law and a new trial as an alternative. Samsung’s filing is asking for this under Federal Rules of Civil Procedure 50 and 59. Their grounds for this motion are fairly straight forward; they were treated unfairly during the proceedings. The actions of Judge Koh during the trial became so extreme that they were almost comical. Samsung’s team caught on to this early and started pushing Judge Koh to see just how far she would take it.

Today Samsung announced some great news. Their new 5.5-inch device, the Note II, will be coming to all major US carriers soon. The new Note will be available in November, and will launch on pretty much same the carriers as its smaller brother the Galaxy S3 did. So far there have been leaks about Verizon's Note II and also some screenshots have confirmed that it will be available on T-Mobile too. That is big turnaround, since the first Note was available exclusively on AT&T in the US. Samsung officially confirmed that it will be available on Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, The Now Network and US Cellular by mid-November.
