Will Microsoft Announce the Next Generation Xbox In May?
If you were worried about Microsoft’s response to the new PlayStation 4 you can rest easy... Well you can start to think about resting easy. You see although
Microsoft has not (and will not) officially talked the next generation Xbox (that everyone is calling the Xbox 720 for now) we are hearing that this new product will be released in May. If this rumor is true it still does not give us much more than a possible moth that the new console will be released and a few rumors on what might be inside.
Are these the Specifications for the Xbox 720?
Portal VGLEAKS says they managed to get their hands on the detailed specifications of Microsoft's new video game console Xbox 720 (Durango). Although there is no indication from which source this information came from, it sounds quite plausible and very interesting. The leaked specs partially overlap with some earlier rumors which do add to their credibility.
Sony will wait for Microsoft to launch their console first
If we are to believe the rumors, this year both Sony and Microsoft are going to release their new game consoles - the question is who will be the first one to enter the spotlight. According to statements coming from Sony, it could be Microsoft.
Will the PlayStation 4 show up at E3?
Sony's vice president of home entertainment, Hiroshi Sakamoto, in his statement to the Chilean website Emol, gave some clues that the PlayStation 4 could be presented before this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which takes place in June.
Ultimate gaming station
Jack Thompson from the company ArcadesRFun has made another version of the gaming system for the most hardcore players. The system has the physical form of a classic arcade machine and is slightly smaller than the last year's edition, which was made for IGN's leader Jace Hall.
Xbox future is in the clouds
Speaking at a recent press conference held in London, Microsoft's Phil Harrison explained that the future of their Xbox brand lies in the clouds, and explained that it is precisely this vision with which he came to Microsoft.
Xbox 360 reaches 70 million sold units
Microsoft's console, the Xbox 360 has achieved a great milestone. They managed to sell 70 million consoles since the launch back in November 2005. This news comes from Microsoft’s fiscal first quarter (July 2012-September 2012) report and it shows Xbox post total revenue of $1.95 billion. This is just a small decrease of 1% from the last year. They managed to sell 1.7 million Xbox 360s worldwide during the last fiscal quarter, which is 29% lower than the last year, making it around 600,000 units less.
Microsoft serious about pirated Halo 4
Halo 4 will be released worldwide on November 6, 2012 but a pirated version of the game has already leaked to the web and can be found on popular torrent sites. We are not surprised that Halo 4 has already been pirated as this is one of Microsoft’s most popular games especially if you consider the multiplayer side. Users are eager to try it and they will, in most cases download the pirated version, at least to try it. This really pissed Microsoft off; they decided to permanently ban all Xbox Live users that are caught playing a pirated version of the game while their console is connected to the Internet.
Minecraft developer disses Windows 8
I was never sure why people play Minecraft and even after I watched people play it I couldn’t find anything interesting in it. Now I have started to like them, as game maker Markus “Notch“ Persson has expressed his disappointment over Windows 8. If you are a fan of this game, and play it regularly don’t rush with upgrading to Windows 8, because you won’t be able to play the game if you do that. That's right, Persson stated on his twitter “Got an email from Microsoft, wanting to help “certify“ minecraft for win8. I told them to stop trying to ruin the pc as an open platform.”
Nintendo Wii U games for 60 Dollars
Nintendo has disproved speculation that games for their new console, Nintendo Wii U, will cost $100. Right now the price should be $59.99 which is a $10 increase from games that were made for the first generation Wii console. Nintedno director of product marketing Bill Trinen said that they will have prices on par with games for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The $100 prices could be found on Amazon and GameStop for various Wii U games, such as Pikmin 3, New Super Mario Bros. U, Just Dance 4 and Lego City Undercover. But Nintendo said that those are mere speculation.
