Toshiba drops a few new SSDs on the market

New Toshiba SSDs belong to HG6 Series, have a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface and should appear on the market in March this year with yet unknown prices. During manufacture Toshiba decided to incorporate NAND chips that are created in the 19nm technology of 2nd generation. SSDs will be available in 2.5-inch mSATA and M.2 (single and double) packaging, and in capacities from 60 GB to 512 GB.

To ensure the user's data from various snoops through theft or negligent loss of the device by the user, Toshiba SSDs are equipped with protection that automatically encrypts data. Additional protection comes in the form of Toshiba's Wipe function that enables automatic deletion of data in case when disk is accessed by unregistered system.

Currently we only known performance of the largest 2.5-inch SSD (512 GB) and they amount to 534 MB/s while reading and 482 MB/s while writing data.
