Ubisoft denying that they are not focusing on optimisation for PC

Reading time is around minutes.

Producer of Assassin's Creed 4, Sylvain Trottier last week gave an interview to the journalists who quoted his words that optimization for the PC is not so important for Ubisoft, and that if the game is not working fast enough users should get a new GPU.

From Ubisoft immediately decided to distance themselves from that statement and said that Trottier's words were taken out of context and that optimization he was mentioning was related to the exploration stage of development of the game during which optimization is not the primary objective. They also added that at Ubisoft all of the optimization starts right from the PC, mainly because all developers have access to similar hardware, and both new generation consoles have similar architecture like PC.

Trottier himself has subsequently said that his words were plucked from a much more comprehensive text, and that if they would not have cared for optimizing versions for PC, they would not have a big team in Kiev, which is devoted exclusively to computer games.
