One of the things that Gabe Newell and his team at Valve keep claiming is that the delays of the SteamBox are all about the controller. This claim was first heard around CES 2014 when many companies were set to unveil their own products. Now we are hearing that we might be seeing the controller again at Gamescon in Germany next month.
A couple of days ago the rumor that Crytek was in serious financial trouble spread around the internet like a clickbait video. We saw it pop up on multiple social media sites with links to multiple sources. As with many viral stories like this everything could be traced back to a single article once you got through the mess. This original article was published on GameStar.de and is hidden behind a paywall (again not unexpected).
Right after the launch of the Haswell Refresh named Devil’s Canyon we are starting to hear the rumors about Haswell-E CPUs. The going rumor now is that Intel will drop this new CPU complete with DDR4 support in September of this year (2014). If this is true that means we will see some new boards as well. We have been hearing about the X99 chipset for a while now and we might see another repeat of the “leak” that we saw with the Z97. We just wonder which partner will do the leaking this time.
There is another rumor of a buy out on the net. This time the company up in the display window is Nuance. If you do not know who these guys are you at least know some of the products their technology is in. Nuance develops speech recognition and voice technology. They are in Apple’s Siri and Samsung’s S-Voice products (they are in many others as well).

So Apple could finally be entering the Smartwach fray this year. At least that is the current rumor and push from Analysts. If this is true it will be a big deal for both Apple and Tim Cook as this will be the first new product type since the introduction of the iPad. Tim Cook has even more riding on this than Apple does as it will be a make or break deal for him to show that he is capable of leading Apple into new markets and not just refreshing the same devices over and over.
