EA sports decided not to release their NBA Live this year as they were not pleased with the development of the game, so they basically let NBA 2K13 get all the sales. 2K Sport's also said that the number of online users has doubled from last year, and the number of NBA 2K13 games played online has grown 127% over last year's total. Jason Argent, VP of marketing for 2K Sports said “Our early sales figures are a validation of our ongoing efforts to push this franchise to new heights“, and it looks like they are really making nice progress.
He didn’t forget to thank the gamers “We owe it to our great fans to continually improve our title - year in and year out - and that’s exactly what we’ve done with NBA 2K13.” The game is currently available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii and PC. The Wii U version will also be available when the console launches on November 18. It will be interesting to see if they can manage to make great results next year when EA is expected to release their NBA Live.
