Verizon has published their results for Q3 2013 and they are doing pretty good. They managed to sell 6.8 million smartphones, which means that now more than 53% of Verizon users are smartphone owners. These sales brought them a 7.5% year-on-year rise and around 1.8 million new customers; which is the most in the last 4 years. In only three months they made $16.2 billion in revenue and the average amount of money spent on their services per account has also increased by 6.5% making it $145.42 monthly.

The thing to notice is that they made a change with their Share Everything concept, where multiple devices can send and receive data from one account, so now it's not exclusive for a single device to have the whole data package just for itself. The main reason for users switching to this plan was aggressive advertising. This caused users started to create more and more hotspots. One of the things that also helped Verizon was the iPhone 5 launch. According to their number they sold over 650,000 units, and that's not all, they activated 3.1 million of iPhones of all kinds just in this quarter, that's 46% of their total smartphone sales.

Their wireless customer numbers grew with 136,000 new FiOS internet connections and 119,000 FiOS Video connections, making it 5.3 million subscribers to FiOS internet and 4.6 million total subscribers to FiOS Video. Their operating revenues are up by 3.9% year-on-year and are now $29 bilion. Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam said that “Verizon continued to deliver double-digit earnings growth and strong cash generation, and we remain solidly on track to meet our financial objectives for the year” and looks like they are on their way to achieve it.
