A New Beast from nVidia

K6000

In their new media release, Nvidia presented 12 GB Quadro K6000 graphics card as the fastest and best ever made for a professional graphics market, claiming that it delivers twice the performance compared to its predecessor, the Quadro 6000 BC. In the announcement, Nvidia says that video card has 12 gigabytes of the fastest and largest DDR5 graphic memory in the world.

They also say that with the combination of advanced performance and energy efficiency, 12 GB Quadro K6000 GPU will be able to advance greatly in visualization projects of companies like Pixar, Nissan, Apache Corporation and WSI Weather Channel Division. Among other features Nvidia mentioned 2,880 streaming multiprocessor cores, simultaneous display on four screens to 4K resolution, ultra-low latency video I/O, and support for the visualization of the "large scale".

New graphics should arrive this fall to graphic workstations from Dell, HP, Lenovo, and then also to other Nvidia partner. Nvidia has not yet released the price of the new graphic card, but it is very likely that you will need at least $2,500 as K5000 4GB cost when it was launched.
