The French police did not want to reveal more details about the case during the investigation, but their spokesman Christophe Crepin said the burglars also grabbed all the cash from the cash register. This is the first organized robbery at an Apple Store, as well as the first robbery of technological stores in France, in which thieves used weapons.

The resale of stolen Apple devices is a very successful business, and in France there is a very strong black market for iGadgets, so the police, in the following days, plan to very intensively check offers on the "black market".  Citizens are reminded to report all offering of such goods and are warned not to buy iDevices from suspicious sources. In France (as in most countries) you can get into trouble for buying stolen goods even if you do so accidentally.

[Ed – The armed robbery of the Apple store is even more concerning as France has some very strict laws on firearm ownership. This could indicate a larger criminal organization wanting to join the fun or a new trend in the way crimes are committed in France. We hope that the French authorities are able to put a stop to this quickly and that the wounded guard recovers quickly…]
